Having a comfortable and sufficient sleep allows your body to have the energy needed for daily activities. Sometimes, the mind has worries that don't stop even when you go to bed. A heavy blanket helps send signals to the brain, calming the mind. The heavy blanket helps reduce mental noise and promotes the production of serotonin and dopamine, which positively impacts relaxation.
Today, many people suffer from insomnia, fatigue, depression, discomfort, anger, and stress. To prevent long-term problems, it is better to have relaxation and comfort at night, as sleep quality is a proper remedy for many illnesses. The heaviness of the blanket distributes pressure across the body, and this pressure relieves stress and anxiety, leading to a comfortable sleep. Below, we explain each of these points in more detail:
Improvement of Insomnia:
To maintain proper mental function, we need to sleep for 6 to 9 hours each day. Unfortunately, people suffering from sleep disorders sleep on average only 2 to 3 hours. A heavy blanket can apply significant pressure to the body, which itself triggers sleep. Sometimes, this pressure can affect the nervous system and help with the production of serotonin, a substance that regulates sleep.
Reduction of Anxiety:
Sometimes, problems from the day don't leave you even when you try to sleep, and you end up thinking about them so much that you forget about sleeping. The next day, you wake up exhausted, and the situation worsens, as solving problems is impossible when you're tired. Cortisol is a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands, responsible for stress responses and one of the primary stress hormones. High levels of cortisol can increase blood flow, but heavy blankets, by applying pressure to the body, can help reduce cortisol levels.
Improved Sleep Quality:
Melatonin is a hormone that improves sleep and helps individuals maintain a regular sleep cycle. Melatonin is also related to serotonin, and these two hormones can be named as essential for enhancing sleep quality. An increase in serotonin leads to more melatonin, and what we should seek as a result is a comfortable sleep with a heavy blanket.
Increased Patience:
Serotonin is a substance that regulates sleep, and other chemicals also affect your mood and patience. Low serotonin levels are linked to depression and may be related to many other diseases. It has been proven that the pressure from heavy blankets can increase serotonin levels and lower cortisol levels.
Sometimes, the mind is preoccupied with worries that don't stop even when you lie in bed. A heavy blanket helps send signals to the brain that allow the mind to calm down. The heavy blanket helps reduce mental noise. By promoting the production of serotonin and dopamine, the heavy blanket has positive effects on relaxation.
